From Laminate to Marble
A dated laminate countertop transformed by hand into a custom marble-inspired surface - proving that beautiful design doesn't always require starting over.
THE BEFORE

The Process
Marble, Painted by Hand
PREP - PRIME - PAINT
With the surface prepared and primed, I began creating the marble pattern by hand. Each vein was individually drawn, layered, softened, and blended to create organic movement across the countertops and backsplash. Rather than following a rigid pattern, I allowed the veining to flow naturally from one section to the next - giving the finished surface the variation and character of stone.

The Finish
Sealed in Glass-Like Shine
MIX - POUR - SPREAD - CURE
With the hand-painted veining complete, I sealed the entire surface beneath a clear epoxy finish. Working section by section, this epoxy was poured, spread, and carefully worked across the countertops and backsplash - deepening the veining, adding dimension, and creating the smooth, glass-like finish that brought the marble effect to life.

THE TRANSFORMATION
From Ordinary to One-of-a-Kind
What began as dated beige laminate became a custom marble-inspired surface created entirely by hand. Soft gray veining flows naturally across the countertops and backsplash, while the high-gloss epoxy finish adds depth and a stone-like dimension. The result completely changed the feel of the kitchen - without replacing the existing countertops.

DESIGN WITHOUT LIMITS
Beautiful Design Doesn't Always Mean Starting Over.
Transformation doesn't always require tearing everything out and starting over. By recognizing the potential in what was already there, these existing laminate countertops were reimagined into a custom, marble-inspired surface - proving that thoughtful design can completely change how a space looks and feels.
